1972년 미국 텍사스주 Grand Saline에서 태어난 크리스 탐린(Chris Tomlin)은 어려서부터 음악적 재능이 있음을 알고 대학에서 의학을 전공하려 했습니다. 그러나 의사가 되는 것이 하나님의 뜻이 아님을 깨닫고 음악 공부를 계속해 How Great Is Our God, Forever, Resurrection Power 등을 작사, 작곡해서 부르며 활동했습니다. 

1995년 처음 앨범을 내기 시작 2001년 앨범 The Noise We Make 발매부터 큰 사랑을 받았습니다. 특히 2004년 앨범 Arriving는 100만장 이상이 판매되었습니다.

크리스 탐린은 로스엔젤레스, 샌프란시스코, 휴스턴, 멕시코시티, 위니펙, 패어뱅크스, 플린트등 북아메리카지역의 여러 도시를 순회하며 찬양전도자로 할동하고 있는 CCM가수이자 싱어송라이터입니다.
